About this race
The Banna Run 5k is an annual road race organised by St Brendan's AC, held at Banna in the Ardfert area of north County Kerry. The course starts approximately 750 metres from the Banna Sea Rescue station and follows a route on open public roads through the flat, coastal countryside surrounding Banna Strand, one of Kerry's finest Blue Flag beaches. The terrain is almost entirely flat and run on tarmac surfaces, making it a popular choice for runners seeking a personal best. The route is AAI certified and chip timed, with full marshaling throughout. All finishers receive a medal and homemade post-race refreshments, which have become a beloved tradition at the event. St Brendan's AC is a vibrant North Kerry club catering for athletes of all ages, and the Banna Run is one of the club's main annual fundraisers, drawing a strong field from across Kerry and Munster each year.
