Con Smith

The Con Smith parkrun begins at the Cavan Institute and follows a scenic 5k route through the beautifully landscaped Con Smith Park in the heart of Cavan Town. This engaging course guides participants along smooth, tree-lined tarmac paths, passing local favorites like the Lucky Horseshoe Coffee Shop and the historic Cathedral Road. The route is primarily a loop that takes in the lush greenery of the park and a small section of the institute’s grounds, providing a vibrant urban escape. Renowned for being flat and fast, the terrain consists almost entirely of tarmac with a very small gravel section and a minor, manageable hill. This professionally organized event offers a high-spirited and welcoming atmosphere for all, concluding with a triumphant finish back within the park's tranquil surroundings.
