Bluestack Way Ultra 50k 2026

The Bluestack Way Ultra 50k is a point-to-point trail ultra held on 1 August 2026, following the route of the Bluestack Way National Waymarked Trail from Donegal Castle in Donegal town to the village square in Ardara on the west Donegal coast. Organised by Race Ireland, the course traverses the Bluestack Mountains and passes through some of the most remote and rugged terrain in the northwest, combining stony trails, open mountain bog, and tarred side roads. Landmarks along the route include Lough Eske, the high moorland between Binbane and Cloghmeen Hill, and the descent along the Owenroe river. The route passes through Glenties before a riverside stretch along the Owenea river leads into Ardara. Bus transport from Ardara to Donegal Castle is included in the entry. All participants must carry a GPS device loaded with the route GPX file. Race HQ and the finish line are in Ardara town park.
