Bluestack Way Ultra 25k 2026

The Bluestack Way Ultra 25k is a point-to-point trail race held on 1 August 2026, following the second half of the Bluestack Way National Waymarked Trail from Letterbarrow to the village square in Ardara on the west Donegal coast. Organised by Race Ireland, the 25k option covers the latter section of the full 50k course and shares the same dramatic Donegal scenery, combining stony trails, mountain bog, and tarred side roads through the heart of the Bluestack Mountains. Starting at Letterbarrow football pitch, the route descends through Glenties before following a riverside stretch along the Owenea river into Ardara. Bus transport from Ardara to Letterbarrow is included in entry fees, and all participants must carry a GPS device with the route GPX file pre-loaded. Both distances finish together in Ardara town park. The village is well known for its traditional music, craft heritage, and warm welcome for visiting runners and their crews.
