About this race

The Ireland West ¾ Marathon is an award-winning road race hosted by Swinford Athletic Club in County Mayo, offering the rare and unusual three-quarter marathon distance. Race registration and headquarters are at Swinford Community Centre, just off the N5, with the fast course set in the scenic countryside of East Mayo. Run on quiet rural roads, the route passes a series of local landmarks including the iconic Meelick Round Tower, the ruins of Ballylahan Castle and the beautiful River Moy. Largely flat and fast by West of Ireland standards, it is well suited to runners using the distance as a build-up to an autumn marathon. The well-supported course features refreshment stations at regular intervals throughout. A genuine West of Ireland welcome and after-race hospitality await finishers at this AAI-permitted event, which carries cash prizes, trophies and a finisher's medal.
