About this race
The Mooreabbey 10/10 is a ten-mile road race based in the picturesque village of Galbally, on the Limerick–Tipperary border amid the foothills of the Galty Mountains. The course traditionally starts on the Tipperary side of the village at the atmospheric ruins of Mooreabbey, before meandering across the county border into Limerick to complete the distance on quiet rural roads. Run on country tarmac through scenic farmland, the route offers stunning views of the Galty mountains and is popular as a summer ten-mile challenge, well suited to those building toward an autumn marathon. Organised by Mooreabbey Milers AC, the well-regarded local club, it is very much an event for runners, organised by runners, with chip timing, generous cash prizes for the leading men and women, category awards and a finisher's gift for all. Drawing strong fields from Limerick, Cork, Tipperary and beyond, it has a warm and welcoming community atmosphere.
