About this race
The Rossin Rovers Heritage 5k is a community run and walk based at the club near Monknewtown, Slane, in County Meath, set in the heart of the historic Boyne Valley close to the Louth border. The scenic route passes by the entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Newgrange and offers fantastic views out over the Boyne Valley countryside, run on the quiet rural roads of this heritage-rich area. Described as a challenging but enjoyable course, it is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. The chip-timed event is managed by MyRunResults and organised by Rossin Rovers AFC, a community soccer club founded in 1984, as a key fundraiser and social occasion. With its striking ancient setting, welcoming atmosphere and strong local support, the run has been a popular fixture since its first staging and celebrates community, health and wellbeing.
