The Ballincollig parkrun begins and ends at the Regional Park allotments situated at the end of Innishmore Lawn. This scenic two-lap clockwise course winds through the historic 130-acre Regional Park, which was once home to the 18th-century Gunpowder Mills. Runners follow a picturesque route alongside the River Lee, passing local landmarks such as the river weirs and navigating a series of wooden bridges. The terrain is exceptionally flat and fast, featuring a diverse mix of smooth tarmac paths and sections of well-trodden gravel trails. Participants enjoy views of open playing fields and old canal banks, making for a refreshing and historic 5k experience in a lush woodland setting.
