Clonakilty

The Clonakilty parkrun begins and ends at the Show Grounds near the Park Road entrance, providing a central and accessible hub for this community event. The 5k route consists of an engaging four-and-a-half-lap anticlockwise loop that runs parallel to the N71 and passes the nearby Quality Hotel and Leisure Centre. Participants navigate the perimeter of the grounds on a surface of 3-meter wide hardcore paving topped with rolled gravel for reliable footing. While each lap includes a gentle 200-meter upward slope and a medium incline, the remainder of the course is notably flat and fast. This unique lap-based layout ensures that virtually all points of the course are visible to spectators, fostering a high-spirited and encouraging atmosphere. With its scenic setting and professional organization, the run offers a rewarding experience for athletes of all levels.
