Castlehaven

The Castlehaven parkrun begins and ends on the forest access pathway within the scenic Rineen Woods near Union Hall. This two-lap clockwise course winds through "fairy-clad" woodland and offers breathtaking views overlooking "The Narrows" and Castlehaven Bay. Recognized as one of the hilliest parkruns in Ireland, the technical route features significant elevation gain across the full 5k. The terrain consists of a rugged mixture of rolling hills on gravel and trail paths that can be uneven underfoot. Each lap concludes with a short, challenging set of uphill steps leading back toward the finish area. This event provides a truly immersive and rewarding running experience within a beautiful West Cork recreational area.
