Caltra and District AC 5k

The Caltra and District AC 5k is a road race hosted by Caltra and District AC in the rural village of Caltra, East Galway. The course follows the well-known 5k route used as part of the Galway 5k Series and is consistently described as flat and fast, making it a favourite among runners seeking quick times. Race headquarters and number collection are located at Caltra Community Centre. The route passes through the quiet rural roads surrounding the village and is entirely on tarmac. The event regularly attracts large fields, with the Galway 5k Series leg at Caltra drawing close to 800 runners in previous years. Organised by a community-focused club founded in 2015, the race is part of a double-header alongside the Caltra 10k and celebrates the club's strong tradition of community engagement.
