Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club 10k 2026

The Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club 10k is part of the inaugural multi-distance running event hosted in Abbeyknockmoy, County Galway, on 12 July 2026, organised by Abbeyknockmoy Hurling Club. The 10k follows a newly created route through the rural roads surrounding Abbeyknockmoy village and the north Galway countryside. The village sits in the gently rolling farmland of east Galway, close to the ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian abbey. The course is chip timed, professionally measured, and certified under an Athletics Ireland permit. It starts at 10:45am, after the 5k and half marathon. Prizes are awarded across all distance categories and all finishers receive a medal and post-race refreshments. The event is open to runners of all standards and is positioned as an ideal mid-summer benchmark race for those targeting an autumn goal race.
