About this race

The Broughshane 5 Mile Road Race (ANI officially measured course) is an annual evening road race organised by Ballymena Runners AC in collaboration with the Broughshane Community Association. The race starts near the Broughshane Community Centre on the Knockan Road and follows a loop through the roads of Broughshane village before returning to the finish near the Community Centre. The course passes through the heart of this picturesque County Antrim village on closed and marshalled roads. The route is generally undulating, typical of the rolling countryside around Broughshane. The event is chip timed, capped at 480 runners, and sells out quickly each year. Pacers are provided across a range of target times. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, and participants are welcomed back with the famous Ballymena Runners post-race barbecue.
