About this race

The Coast to Coast 10 Mile Challenge is organised by Sligo Athletic Club and takes place on the last Sunday of September each year, running point-to-point along the Wild Atlantic Way coastline of County Sligo. The course starts at Sligo Rugby Club in Strandhill village and finishes on the promenade at Rosses Point. The route runs along the scenic coastal road between the two peninsulas, passing in the shadow of Knocknarea mountain with views of Coney Island and the dramatic outline of Benbulben. The course is flat with very little elevation change throughout, making it ideal for personal best attempts and first-time 10-mile runners. Chip timed and a popular build-up race for autumn marathons, the event is one of the most scenic 10-mile road races in Ireland and consistently attracts a strong field.
