About this race

The Long Woman's 5k is a scenic evening road race based in Omeath village on the Cooley Peninsula, County Louth. The classic course starts near The Long Woman's Grave — a historic folklore site on the mountain road above Omeath — and descends along one of the most spectacular stretches of the peninsula into the village below, finishing at Omeath pier. Runners are transported to the start by bus from the village. The route offers sweeping views across Carlingford Lough to the Mourne Mountains throughout. Organised in aid of Scoil Naomh Lorcan, the event includes a family walk option alongside the main race, with medals for all finishers and refreshments at the pier after.
