Ireland West Airport Runway Run

The Ireland West Airport Runway Run is a charity 5k fun run and walk held on the runway at Ireland West Airport Knock in County Mayo, now in its ninth year. The 2026 event takes place on Saturday 19 September at 7:15pm, in partnership with Portwest. The course takes participants along the actual runway of the airport, offering a truly unique running experience with a completely flat and sealed tarmac surface. Runners and walkers gather on the runway and complete the 5km course before finishing back at the terminal area. Complimentary car parking and refreshments are provided, and all participants receive a race t-shirt. Proceeds support six charity partners: Cancer Care West, Family Centre Castlebar, Liver Ireland Support Network, Mayo Mental Health Association, Pancreatic Cancer Ireland, and Sunflower Children's Hospice.
