Rebel Run 5k

The Cork Rebel Run 5k is an annual community road race now in its 14th year, taking place on Sunday 18 October 2026 at MTU Cork Campus in Bishopstown, Cork City. Organised by Cork Sports Partnership, MTU Sports Department and Leisureworld Cork, and sponsored by Cork County Council and Cork City Council, the event is open to runners and joggers of all abilities. The 5k starts from the MTU tiered carpark at the rear of the Athletics Track stand and travels on road for the first 1.5km before joining the Curraheen Riverwalk, a peaceful pedestrianised pathway running along the Curraheen River. After approximately 2km on the walkway, the route returns to road, re-enters the MTU campus via Rossa Avenue and finishes on the state-of-the-art MTU Athletics Track. Each participant receives a goody bag including a special edition gift and water bottle.
