The 32nd Annual Dungarvan Leader Dromana 5 Mile is a point-to-point road race organised by West Waterford Athletic Club. The course runs from the village of Villierstown to the town of Cappoquin along the famous Dromana Drive, following the scenic banks of the River Blackwater through the Dromana estate. The route retraces the training roads of world champion and Olympic silver medallist John Treacy, who grew up in Villierstown. Number collection takes place at the Community Hall in Villierstown, with the race starting at 7.30pm. The finish line is in Cappoquin, where refreshments and prizegiving are held in the hall beside the snooker club. The course is a gently rolling point-to-point route through the Blackwater Valley. Prizes are awarded to the top five men and women and to team winners.
